China Merchants Group has signed an agreement with America Ethane to deliver US ethane to China. CMG is China’s largest State Owned Entity, with assets in excess of 1.2 Trillion dollars.
Under terms of an MOU signed on July 27, 2018, China Merchant Group, through subsidiary Nanjing Tanker Corp, will make a 
multi billion dollar investment to build own an operate a fleet of Very Large Ethane Carriers to transport and guarantee delivery of up to 7.2 million tons a years of ethane under the terms of American Ethane contracts with China. American Ethane’s contracts have the potential to triple the ethane export capacity of the US. With a total US gas sale volume of more that $70 Billion, with the largest company in China, the deal is a major step in reducing the US/China deficient in a “win win” strategy for the US and China.
